Bellingham Waterfront: Bikes, Revitalization, and Oysters

The Bellingham waterfront is a mix of commercial, industrial, and recreational uses. In 2005, the Port purchased about 64 acres from Georgia-Pacific, which manufactured paper products on the site for 80 years.

The property is now part of the Bellingham Bay Demonstration Pilot project, a coordinated bay-wide effort by federal, tribal, state and local governments to clean up contamination, control pollution sources and restore habitat, with consideration for land and water uses.
